Persistent foaming for physicochemical properties testing

The persistent foaming test (CIPAC MT 47.3) ascertains how much foam persists when formulations are diluted in water. The aim is to ensure foam does not remain in tanks and equipment after use, putting operators at risk. The product is added to a standard cylinder of water, which is inverted 30 times and then measuring the amount of foam after 1 minute. The acceptable limit is 60 ml foam after 1 minute.
