Inclusion and Diversity
Harnessing diversity for competitive advantage.
Inclusion is how we harness the collective richness of our perspectives and expertise to deliver extraordinary performance. Diversity is what we each uniquely bring to our work. It encompasses both what meets the eye, such as race, gender or age, as well as attributes that may not be visible such as nationality, belief, experience and upbringing. It is the combination of inclusion and diversity that is powerful. We believe that the diversity of our employees and our inclusive programs contribute to a healthy, productive and respectful work environment. It is important to recognize the role that inclusion and diversity play in our day-to-day work lives.
Creating New Pathways to Leadership for Women
In business terms, employees are a company’s greatest asset. They are the source of its differentiation, its innovation and its future growth. “We are strongest as a company when all our employees can contribute to their fullest potential,” says Glenn Eisenberg, LabCorp’s chief financial officer. “An inclusive, high-performing culture — one that values diversity across age, race, ethnicity, gender, religion, experiences and more — amplifies a company’s ability not only to succeed, but to rise far above its competitors.”

“It is an honor to receive this recognition for a second consecutive year because of the commitment of our nearly 61,000 colleagues worldwide to creating a positive work environment and culture,” said David P. King, chairman and CEO of LabCorp. “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, I am proud not only of what we have achieved in the last five decades, but also how we achieve success — by fostering a culture that treats every person with dignity and respect. That mindset is critical to achieving our mission of improving health and improving lives.”
Our Employee Resource Groups are a channel to connect employees
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are one example of how we are embracing inclusion and diversity in the workplace. These employee-led groups provide a powerful forum for people who share a common interest or background to connect with one another, create networking opportunities and serve as ambassadors within the company to increase awareness and advocacy. In addition, our team members find participation in these groups promotes personal and professional development, provide an invaluable two-way communication channel between employees and management, and offers critical insights into our diverse customer base. Groups range from advocates and allies for women, parents and veterans to our Covance Pride Network (for LGBTQ employees and allies); and from our GoGreen Committee to our Diversity Awareness Committee(s).
