Wettability for physical chemistry testing
Wettability (CIPAC MT 53.3) ascertains whether products formulated as water-soluble, wettable, emulsifiable or dispersible powders/granules for spraying are wetted fast enough in use. Using quantities that will produce the highest intended concentration, the formulated product is dropped into to water from a specified height and without stirring; the time to complete wetting is then determined. Depending on the type of formulation, an acceptable test result is complete wetting within either one or two minutes.
