OECD 202: Daphnia sp. acute immobilization test

The daphnia sp. acute immobilization test is a acute toxicity test to assess effects of chemicals towards daphnids (usually Daphnia magna Staus). Daphnids aged <24 hours (at the start of the test) are exposed to the chemical at a range of at least 5 concentrations for 48 hours. Immobilization is recorded at 24 and 48 hours and compared with control values, and the EC50 is calculated. At least 20 animals should be used at each test concentration.

A broad suite of standard aquatic ecotoxicology studies to international standards can be designed, ensuring a study will be accepted globally.
