EU method & UN/CLP testing corresponds to: The Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation [EC] No 1272/2008). Based on the United Nations’ Globally Harmonised System (GHS), the aim is to achieve a high level of protection of health and the environment, as well as the free movement of substances, mixtures and articles. For example, in UN Division 4.3, Test N.5 assesses the ability of a substance to emit flammable gases on contact with water, whereby the substance is exposed to water in a variety of conditions.
