Covance has extensive clinical experience in more than 70 therapeutic areas gained through our support of greater than 15,000 clinical trials worldwide.

From breakthrough therapies to me-too drugs and more, we have extensive expertise and experience. Below are our leading therapeutic areas since the year 2000, across Phases II through IV.

Autoimmune
•		Our central laboratory has supported more than 650 rheumatoid arthritis studies worldwide.
•		We have significant clinical experience and expertise in a variety of indications including transplant rejection, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyalgia, inflammatory bowel syndrome and idiopathic pulmonary disorder (IPD).

Cardio & Thrombosis
•		We have provided central and virtual central laboratory services for over 800 cardiovascular and thrombosis studies combined across 57 countries.
•		We have provided cardiovascular safety studies across 68 countries and 45 therapeutic areas over the last 30 years.
•		Our clinical development teams have significant expertise and experience in cardio and thrombosis studies, with a particular focus on primary and secondary modality lowering including antithrombotic and cardiac rhythm interventions, as well as disturbances.

Infectious Diseases
•		We have extensive clinical expertise and experience conducting infectious disease studies across multiple indications with a particular focus on complex infections such as intraabdominal and resistance.
•		We have provided central laboratory services in support of over 1,000 HIV/Hepatitis B, C studies across 60 countries, involving greater than 1 million patients.

Gastroenterology
•		In addition to our broad expertise and experience in gastroenterology studies, we are particulary strong in the following indications: gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), reflux diseases, inflammatory disorders and more.
•		We combine our clinical strengths and expertise with that of our central laboratory (the world's largest) for streamlined data flow.
•		Our central laboratory has supported more than 600 gastroenterology studies worldwide.

Endocrinology
•		We combine our clinical strengths and expertise with that of our central laboratory (the world's largest) for streamlined data flow.
•		From proof of concept studies through postmarketing safety evaluations, we have extensive clinical experience and expertise across a number of indications with a particular strength in the following areas: dyslipidemia, hypoglycemia, diabetes and obesity.

Oncology
•		We have broad clinical expertise and experience in oncology studies especially in the areas of cytotoxic drugs, vaccines, gene therapy, antibodies and targeted therapies.
•		More than 10% of our central and virtual central laboratory work is in the area of oncology, totaling more than 1,000 clinical studies combined.
•		Our unique Virtual Central Laboratory enables us to collect combinable data from local laboratories around the world and integrate it into our central database. This is very important when sample turnaround times are critical.

Respiratory
•		We have extensive clinical experience and expertise with respiratory studies, with a particular focus on COPD, asthma, interstitial lung, pulmonary embolism and pneumonia.
•		We have provided central and virtual central laboratory services for over 800 respiratory studies combined worldwide.

Urology
•		We have extensive clinical expertise and experience in urology studies and we are particularly strong in the areas of complicated urinary infections and functional disorders of incontinence such as BPH and urinary tract infections.
•		We also bring a combined level of clinical expertise and experience in the areas of renal and blatter infections as our urologists in these areas collaborate very closely on many occasions.
•		We have provided central laboratory services for more than 300 urology studies worldwide.

CNS
•		We have provided central and virtual central laboratory services for over 1,400 CNS and mental health studies combined across 62 countries.
•		In clinical development we have broad expertise and experience across many indications with particular strengths in the areas of anxiety, depression, ADP and schizophrenia.
