Covance is sponsoring a presentation at the upcoming Cambridge Healthtech Institute ADAPT Congress, Making Personalized Medicine a Reality, in Philadelphia on September 9th, 2011. Walter Jessen, Ph.D., Computational Biologist with the Biomarker Center of Excellence, will give a breakfast presentation "Covance BioPathways for Biomarker Discovery" during the Biomarker Discovery Informatics Track to describe Covance's new BioPathways resource located on Covance.com.
The pathway tool (an example network shown below), which integrates Covance's assay capabilities and antibody products with biological and disease pathways, can be accessed for free at covance.com/biopathways.
Recent advancements in molecular diagnostics and high-throughput DNA sequencing are moving biomarker discovery from target- to pathways-based identification. Integrating validated biomarker assays with biological pathways allows for the potential repurposing of biomarkers from one therapeutic area to another, or from markers useful only in limited research settings, to candidate markers with clinical utility, reducing time and costs associated with assay development. Moreover, Covance BioPathways allows clients to view Covance services and products in the context of biological data.
As part of your Biomarker Discovery Informatics Track at ADAPT 2011 Congress, please join us for a presentation on how Covance has contextualized its scientific capabilities around biological and disease pathways.
