Our scientists have global, in-depth knowledge and experience in regulatory requirements associated with product development. We offer services in:
  • Regulatory affairs

  • Environmental fate — Regulations and legislation on pesticides in water have resulted in more testing of the degradation and leaching of pesticides in soil and in natural water environments.

  • Ecotoxicology — Our ecotoxicology studies identify the effects of chemicals on non-target organisms. This results in an effective environmental hazard assessment.

  • Experimental Ponds

  • Plant metabolism — Studies in crops grown to maturity are conducted in our facilities, which are equipped with computer-controlled heating, lighting and humidity. Confined rotational crop studies for EPA using radiolabeled pesticides also can be conducted under glass.

  • Residue chemistry — As a leader in residue chemistry, Covance is well-equipped to undertake analytical method development and residue analysis on a wide range of matrices for crop protection products.

  • Field Trials Management

  • Physical chemistry — Product chemistry studies are required to characterize the substance and to provide an indication of any direct hazards (flammability, explosivity, etc.) or potential hazards (solubility, partition coefficient, etc.) to man and the environment.

  • Animal Metabolism — We perform a wide range of in vivo and in vitro metabolism studies, from preliminary investigations of bioaccumulation sites to elucidation of complex metabolic pathways.

  • Genetic and Mammalian Toxicology — Our complete range of toxicology studies assess potential risks for man and animals associated with the use of agrochemical products.

  • Target Animal Safety.
