Tissue Cross Reactivity
It is of key importance to test the tissue cross-reactivity (TCR) of a monoclonal antibody. This is necessary to ensure that the antibody does not bind to receptors or other epitopes as well as to the intended target. Human tissues are used to determine the ability of a monoclonal antibody to bind to non-target epitopes. The Department of Histology at Covance Harrogate carries out tissue cross-reactivity studies. The facility is fully accredited on the UK MCA Regulatory Compliance Program and works extensively with regulatory authorities worldwide. Our staff shares a willingness to discuss, advise and communicate effectively on every stage of your study from inception to finalization of report.

Features of the TCR service include:

  • Specific study protocols written to reflect your exact requirements
  • A dedicated facility with state-of-the-art equipment for the sectioning and staining of a full range of frozen, resin and paraffin samples
  • Fully validated viable human donor tissue banks (up to 38 tissues available) from multiple donors, with patient history if required
  • Extensive range of small and large animal tissues including primates
  • The ability to conjugate primary monoclonal antibodies if required
  • A full range of positive, negative and specific absorption assay controls to ensure technical validity
  • Wide expertise in immunohistological and immunocytochemical procedures using dedicated, highly experienced histologists
  • Evaluation of results by fully qualified pathologists accredited by the Royal College of Pathologists
  • A flexible reporting process designed to meet your exact requirements with both standard and digitized photographic images in hard-copy GLP audited reports
  • Supplementary digital photographic images that can be electronically transferred to your desktop in real time
  • Fully audited Quality Assurance programs covering technical procedures and reporting refined to your regulatory requirements.
